Facilities
FMS Lab
The Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMS) Laboratory
contains a variety of industrial equipment and machine tools for student use. It also serves as the home of the
AbSolUte Orange Novelty Company, a manufacturing enterprise managed by undergraduate students. Housed in the laboratory
are a Hardinge CNC turret lathe and a Bridgeport CNC vertical mill. These two machine tools serve as the cornerstones
of the student-run factory. Other, manual machine tools, such as drill presses and sanders can also be found in
the facility, along with a wide selection of hand and precision measuring tools.
MAD Lab
The Multidisciplinary Analysis and Design Laboratory
(MADLAB) is one of a number of computer clusters which service the College community. This laboratory, which also
serves as a classroom facility, contains thirty of the latest Pentium-driven PC's, as well as a selection of higher-level
workstations. Networked to the College systems, a wide variety of engineering, mathematical, modeling, and communications
software is available to students, including such packages as AutoCAD, ProENGINEER, ANSYS, Microsoft Office, and
Netscape. This facility is available for student use around the clock.
