About IME

The Institute for Manufacturing Enterprises (IME) is a partnership between manufacturing companies, the L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science, the School of Management, the School of Information Studies, University College, and other schools and colleges at Syracuse University. The mission of the IME is to promote learning in manufacturing enterprises through teaching, application, integration, discovery, and service. The IME coordinates and supports multidisciplinary educational programs collaboratively offered by the College of Engineering and Computer Science, the School of Management, the School of Information Studies, and University College. It also supports research projects relevant to manufacturing enterprises. The IME involves faculty and students from existing academic programs across the campus, and practitioners from manufacturing industry. The IME encourages close interactions with manufacturing enterprises through collaborative research projects, seminars, workshops, and short courses, and to further develop student/faculty internships and co-operative work relationships.
